Bonnie Glass
Head Coach
Bonnie Glass grew up figure skating in the Philadelphia area and achieved gold and high-level tests in freestyle, ice dance, figures, and moves-in-the-field. Bonnie graduated from Miami University (Ohio) with a BA in Psychology and minor in Criminology where she was a member of the Miami University Varsity Synchronized Skating Team. As a Division I NCAAathlete, she competed with the team nationally and internationally representing both Miami University and USA. She was a member of Team USA, the 1999 National Championship team, and the 2000 Prague International Cup championship team. Upon graduation from Miami University, Bonnie moved to New York City and received her MS in Social Work from Columbia University. While practicing social work in NYC, she was also Assistant Coach to CPIce Synchronized Skating program and a figure skating coach with Skating Club of New York. She coached CPIce for 7 formative years, coaching the teams to Eastern Sectional Champions and Empire State Game Champions. Bonnie relocated to Vermont in 2016 and began coaching the University of Vermont Open Collegiate Synchronized Skating Team. In addition to her role as head coach, she is full time faculty in the University of Vermont Department of Social Work, and senior clinician and consultant
at Vermont Center for Resiliency. When she is not practicing social work or coaching skating, you can find her running, at CrossFit, writing letters to old friends, learning to play
the piano, making coffee, and traveling and daydreaming with her little family.

Samantha Shanks
Coach
Samantha Shanks grew up figure skating in Burlington, Vermont. She passed her gold level tests in ice dance and moves in the field, and intermediate level in freestyle. She attended the University of Vermont and received her B.S in Dietetics, Nutrition and Food Science with a minor in psychology. During her undergraduate years, Samantha skated with the UVM Synchronized Skating Team. She acted as a team captain for two of her four years with UVM Synchro. Her senior year, she also acted as President of the UVM Figure Skating Club. After graduating in 2019, Samantha began working alongside Bonnie as the team's assistant coach while pursuing her master's degree in Dietetics at UVM. Samantha has thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of watching the club grow over the years, and is honored to have the opportunity to continue working with and learning from UVM Figure Skating athletes each season. In addition to coaching UVM Synchro, Samantha is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for the State of Vermont. In her free time, Samantha enjoys cooking, hiking, and playing field hockey.


Ashley Walker Green
Choreographer
Ashley grew up dancing and figure skating in Connecticut. She graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Dance. While at Columbia, she founded the NYC Intercollegiate synchro team and brought the team to the National Championships. She has been coaching and choreographing in the NYC area for over twenty years. As a young coach, she founded Central Park Ice Synchronized Skating, which eventually grew into the largest youth synchro program in New York City. She led the CP Ice teams to Eastern Sectional and Empire State Championships during her fifteen year tenure as director. Currently, she coaches with Team Image Synchro, where she works with skaters across all levels, from Aspire to Novice. Ashley has passed her gold level skating skills and silver ice dance tests and has been featured on the NBC Today Show and the NY Times, among other media outlets. When she's not on the ice, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
